James Suckling, famous wine lover and former editor of Wine Spectator, and internationally renowned critic, has tasted and rated the wines of Domaine Fond Moiroux.
The quality of the Moulin-à-Vent Gros Vosges has been recognized!
Each year, the wine critic publishes his TOP100 of the best wines of the year, and this year, the wines of the estate were part of his selection and he underlines the "rediscovery of Beaujolais wines".
This is the reason why our Moulin-a-vent Gros Vosges vintage 2020 has obtained the exceptional score of 94/100.
Gros Vosges 2020 – 94/100 This stunning Moulin-a-Vent is anything but showy, even with the black cherry aromas creeping up on you. However, it has excellent concentration and balance, the deep fruit, fine tannins, mineral acidity and savory character all fitting together beautifully. Long, very elegant finish. Sustainable. Drink or hold.
The Gros Vosges 2021 vintage is not to be outdone as it obtained a score of 93/100!
Gros Vosges 2021 – 93/100 This Moulin-a-Vent is remarkably cool with restrained wild strawberry fruit and a touch of crystallized violet aromas. However, the elegant tannin structure is already beautifully integrated on the medium-bodied palate, giving precise contours through the long, mineral finish. Excellent aging potential. Sustainable. Drink or hold.
These distinctions represent the crowning achievement of several years of efforts following the takeover of Domaine Fond Moiroux, and motivate us to continue to promote these unique terroirs located in Cogny and Romanèche-Thorins.
